In light of some recent discussions on chemical frame stripping....I have decided to go that route instead of mediablasting. I would still like to coat inside the frame with something. If memory serves me right, I remember about a year or so ago one of our forum members from another country purchased a new product from a german company I believe. This product was supposed to expand and fill the frame rails preventing rust. I can't remember whether it may have been groovyjay, markus p, or someone else. Does anyone recall this product?
no, I dont remember that one, but somebody posted in detail how they used a garden sprayer to spray the inside of the frame with POR-15. Placed coffee cans under the holes to catch the runoff. Got good results. MJ
I have a friend who does rustproofing. You can have the insides of the rails sprayed. Try Ziebart, Rusty Jones, etc. They have many long flexible wands that can be placed in the rails. I've done that on all 3 of my cars. Chuck
I use valvoline Tectyl spray. Not the black sttuff but some kind of honey like substance. It comes in an aerosol and you can get a long flex hose with it that has a spray nozzle on front. Just stick it in and pull the hose back. The stuff is relativly thin and runs in all the pores. Easy and a whole lot less messy than a garden sprayer & POR15
Hi Brett
The guy your looking for is from the German Corvetteforum.de.
I think it was 454big
He's visiting this forum here regularily.
Good luck Gunther
Thanks Wesch! I will have to try and contact him. I did find this info from a yahoo search about Eastwood's products. It sounds less messy than trying to use POR-15. http://zccw.org/Tech/Body/02-97RustPrevent.html
