If I drive my '78 everyday, there are no visible leaks, not a drop on the garage floor.
BUT, if I leave the car parked for over two days, there will be a small gas leak out of the fuel pump. But the leak is not continuous, it will dump some gas on day two, then not leak another drop afterwards (up to a week).
Any ideas? What are the symptoms of a bad fuel pump?
I have changed frame-to-pump hoses, so the leak is not there.
When my fuel pump went is gushed about a quart of gas out before I pinched the line. If it had caught fire my vette might have cooked. A stock replacement fuel pump is under $30.
It's the pump. Don't wait 'till the pin hole in the diaphram turns into a gas tank vent, the fumes run over and say "howdy!" to Mr. water heater, and you shop for new clothes and furniture. Also, it's much easier to fix in your garage than out on I-95 at night in a snow storm.
