Headers for a LS swap
78, in the process of gathering the items I need for my LS swap. The link below is for a set of flowmaster headers. I am always on the lookout for a good deal, but I also don't intend to cheap out. Can anyone tell me if these headers will fit a 78? I will be installing a Boregson steering box. I have read on a few threads there is the potential for interference. The engine is an LS6 out of a 2001 Z06. Let me know if you need any other information. Thank you Bill

Probably not going to fit a C3 chassis as it is totally different than a C5 chassis. ARH has a set for the C3. They are pricey but top quality. They actually made the prototype on my car as I left my car at their shop for a couple of weeks. He built the headers and my exhaust system for the car. Mine is an LS3 but your LS6 is similar.

As best I can tell from looking at pictures of the ARH product, mechanical clutch linkage will not work. That probably is unusual on an LS installation as you need a particular adapter to mount to the block. Just a caution for you, nevertheless.

On my 71 C3 LS swap I used 1 3/4" mid length headers from Speedway. I think they were Patriot brand. Drivers side fit prefect. On the passenger side I had to cut and mod one tube as it was too close to the cross member. The application was 55-57 chev LS swap headers. I bought the bare steel type and then sent them out to be coated. I ran a 4L60E so I can't speak to a manual trans application.
