Default EVAP system

I have a 71 and am getting tired of the gas vapor smell when I pull the car into the garage after a ride. I do not think there is any fuel leak. My canister and system maybe never was changed and the canister is missing the bottom cap. I thought maybe I would start by changing the canister and the hoses but there does not appear to be a source for a replacement canister. Does anyone know of a source for the correct canister or one that could work with a 71? Any other suggestions of how to attack my issue? Thanks

Go to a good parts store and see if there is a cross reference number that also fits another model Chevrolet, like a Camaro, Chevelle or Impala and install it.
Source one from someone who has one sitting in their garage or do a WTB in the C3 parts for sale section.
Changing the filter and charcoal is a simple maintenance item.
The filters are available at most parts stores and you can purchase the charcoal at any pet store that sells aquarium supplies.
