Door spring preload. 77 power windows
Just noticed another thread where someone pre-loaded the door springs by an extra half turn. First I have heard of this, but my windows are slow to go up and fast to go down. I only loaded the springs by the initial "less than half turn". What is correct? I don't want to over-load the mechanism.

Did you use new springs or just put the old ones back on ?
I have put an old spring on half a turn more , it seemed way too much force and I could only just get it on that way . I ended up putting it back to where it should be .
Maybe your springs are just worn
