Trying to look for a replacement for my j*nk converter from jegs ( 15% slippage at high speeds).
From googling I've learned that some brands (like TCI are bad too?)
If not I'd buy this converter, although it says circletrack, I don' t think there is anything super special about it? https://www.tciauto.com/circle-track...stall-rpm.html
Atm i'm looking at this converter : https://ftiperformance.com/Economy-S...-TH400-ESR.htm.
But the lowest stall speed is 2600 rpm ( wich probably will be 2400 for my application I think, should make around 300hp).
Is that something thats livable on the street? Or should I keep looking for something lower stall? Cam is the lunati barebones equivalent of a compcam 268H. 214/224 duration @50.
I would contact someone like Andre at Edge Racing converters or a similar vendor. You will pay more but they will build a converter to your car weight, motor, gearing, etc. It is not as simple as buying a converter rated at a advertised stall speed. They will work but maybe not as well as they should.
Stock stall on vette is 1800-2000rpm. I found I get a lot of wheel spin even with that (not a good 'hole shot'). I wouldn't go much over 2400 on the street unless you are adding a transmission cooler ahead of the radiator.
Could be, I don't have the stock one anymore though.
Would like to keep it a 10" converter too if possible, I like the responsiveness of the engine with the 10" atm.
I have an FTI convertor I asked for one that didn't slip alot and the seemed to deliver. Mines a 9" 2800 Stahl which is probably more than you may want.im very pleased with FTI.

Happy to hear your thoughts!
There are a lot of factors that go into selecting a converter for the street. Your post is a typical post by someone that chose the wrong converter and then blames the company that made it. If memory severs me you got some good info a while back but chose what some of us told you would not work. Here you are again. watch the video....
