Default Cutting power to clock

Is there an easy way to cut power to 1974 clock. It drains the battery if the car is in storage for awhile. I had a battery cut off switch but with the new Fit Tech fuel injection I was told to not keep shutting off the power. I do have a trickle charger. Thanks. Tom

Fuse panel.

Upper left fuse marked CLK LTR CTSY BATT

You pull that you'll loose the clock,Cigarette lighter, the courtesy lights under the dash and in the rear space as well as the light(s) in the cubby compartments themselves.

You will also loose anything plugged into the terminal label BATT next to that fuse if you have something there.

1) Trickle charger.

2) Why were you told not to keep shutting off power to the EFI? Sounds weird.

My 69 has a Holley EFI and the battery cut off is used all the time. Winter storage, theft deterrent, extended vacations, etc. T

my guess is a trickle chatger will not be an issue for clock draw...leave it...gives you a chance to calibrate it over time 😀

I use something like this on the negative battery terminal to shut off the clock, and all other parasitic loads.

Why can't your EFI be shut off? That seems like a critical design flaw.

I thought the same thing- non volatile memory is so common place these days- however the FITech owners manual said different, AND it's fused at 25A - as a constant source.

So the thought of a cut-off switch with a small fused constant would also not work...

To the OP- I would JUST connect only the FITech to the battery and see the parasitic draw - as just a guess - it might pull more than the clock.

So FITech is going off my list as I'm looking at converting my 73.

Thanks for all the input guys. Appreciate it. I’ll just stay with the trickle charger. Easiest. Tom
