When the one on my 77 was giving up. I took it to an automotive electrical rebuilding place, had it rewound and rebuilt. Affordable and I still have the original
30 years ago I usually took starters and alternators to a local auto electric shop for rebuilds. I wonder how many of those shops are still around in today's throw away society.
I used D&M Restoration located in S Carolina. Call them and see what it will cost, also be sure and cushion the motor as UPS likes to throw boxes. They broke mine, and I had to send it back to be repaired.
I bought this one as it looked the cleanest visually......I had just restored under the hood and this sits out front and center. It works great. Mine is a 72'.
AZ still has them. I bought the Cardone replacement for my '69 about 4 years ago. Mine was either no core charge or a miniscule core charge so I kept the original. https://www.autozone.com/electrical-...se&model=motor
