I still have my original rotors that were on the car for 40 years. The pads sat the slightest bit below the edge of the rotor. With new Wilwood calipers, very same fit. What you have is a part mismatch. It looks like all new parts, but you haven't said what they are or where you got them.
If you have or can compare the old parts to the new you should do it. FYI my originals measure 11-11/16". (I keep them for convenient weights when for instance gluing things together.)
Contact Powerstop they made the rotors and pads and I have never seen a pad ride high like that. Seems like the hole in the pad backing plate is too low causing the pad to ride high.
Are new, quality, front & rear rotors the EXACT same diameter? What I am getting at is, in post #7 Mr. Greens rotor appears closer to the pin. Just a little bigger rotor?
I know that front & rear rotors are different in the height or depth. Which can be seen when laid on a flat surface. Actual diameter differences? IDK
Maybe that is a front rotor, too small? Maybe aftermarket rotor smaller in dia?

I just installed the same power stop pads on my 79. They stick up slightly above the rotor. The pad pin hole is squared at the top and the old Wagner pads have a oval hole. I’m using the stock rotors.
Wagner pad on the bottom. Power stop on top. I held them up side by side with the pin. That squared off hole is what makes it sit slightly higher.
The hole in that new power stop pad looks to be in the wrong place. Distance from the pad to the bottom of the hole looks less than the original. If it were me, I would try to exchange them for a different brand. I guess it could also be bad placement of the pad on the metal back. Either way defective.
It also appears speedreed8 rotor is almost touching the locator pin.
Where as the O.P.s rotor has a huge gap between the two..
H-m-m-m-m-m-m-. (rotor dia?)

I will say again - "my originals measure 11-11/16"
I really appreciate everyone's input on this, thanks! I sent the photo to Power Stop which is the supplier of the rotors and the pads to see what they say. Without that input, right now I'm leaning toward replacing the rotors with CSSB's "direct factory replacement" rotors and new brake pads. I'll keep you all posted.
