I have an issue with the drivers side power window mechanism.
When the window travels to its lowest position I get a metallic clunk at the end of its travel.
I've removed the door trim to try and investigate and found this threaded metal stud with nut and captured washer sitting in the bottom of the door.
Can anybody tell me where it comes from.
If you could give me a diagram that would be great.
Thanks
Jim Loose nut and stud in door?
As far as the clunk, run the window up and down at the bottom of the travel and watch for flexing and/or tracks, regulator, motor movement. Something must be out of alignment, loose or the motor is putting pressure on the regulator because of one of the above options and the clunk is the relief or stopping point of the pressure. I would watch the scissor action of the regulator and look for irregular bends/bending and don't forget to check the teeth that window motor drives. Make sure all hardware is tight! Hope this helps!!!
