Default Refilling the cooling system

I have to change the drain petcock. So obviously, I will flush all the coolant. During the refill, how can I be sure to don't left some air bubbles in the cooling system? Exists a proper procedure to fill all the ducts, head passages ecc? thx

Do you have a set of ramps? Elevating the front end forces almost all air bubbles to the front, to the highest point. The Rad Cap / Inlet.

After filling cooling system, let it idle for several minutes with Rad Cap off. This allows air to escape.

Yep, raise the front end and run it up to temp.
Ten run the car up to temp around the block a couple of times.
See if bubbles appear in the overflow tank.

Unless you complety drain the block there will always be some coolent, or water if you did a flush, left in the engine.
Don't worry about it. Watch the coolent level in the overflow tank. Drive it for awhile.

Just run it. Still on ramps, Rad Cap off. It make take quite awhile to "burp".

And may God Bless Italy in these awful times of hardship.

Ken is right. It never holds what is advertised unless it's a dry block, rad and system (the heater core is part of that system). Don't over think it. Fill it, warm to operating temp, let it cool then check the level and that's it.
