header studs
I ran into the issue of some of the nuts being too big to clear the tubes, and or getting a wrench onto them. - I remedied this by getting a few extra studs from my motor builder with 5/16 smaller nuts.

The passenger side went together ok when I test fitted.
On the drivers side there is no way I can have the front 4 studs in, and get the header up and in place with the steering box there, and my oil pan.
So I have a choice, try and shorten the studs on the lathe, or screw the studs in after the header is hung. (doesn't this defeat the purpose of a stud?) The end 2 have the alternator bracket so they will need to be full length,
Id still prefer to use studs, I like the idea of the fine thread to tighten the nut onto, and the stud fully threaded into the aluminium head. plus I already have the studs.
What should I do? No one else had same trouble?
This is a SBC with AFR heads.
in fact everything on an aluminum head short of the head bolts gets anti seize or your asking for trouble down the road.
