1982 Wiper issue / Connector Diode
This one is self inflicted, I spliced in my Holley electric choke wire to the hot wire (middle) of the wiper motor connector. Every thing worked so I cleaned things up, new shielding on the wires and I re-taped the three wire motor connector. Looks like I crossed the two legs of the diode that is on that connector and now I have no wipers. I bench tested the motor and it's OK, if I push in on the washer **** the fluid works and the wipers cycle and then park normally...The fuse must be good. I ordered a used module from ebay that the guy insisted was tested and it does the same thing...but i can return it.
So, What does that diode do? *If it's bad will it blow the module?
Any ideas what is wrong or should I order one of those new style modules?
Thanks,

I was wondering why it was there in the first place...There are three wires, top one is high speed ground, middle is hot and bottom is slow speed ground, might have the top and bottom reversed... I can't see why one would have a diode and not the the other, top not bottom,,, I'm asking because I think it might be a clue as to what is not working and probably shorted...
Thanks again...
