Appears I have a loose pwr steering pump. When I pull up on power steering belt, the pump moves. What ie best way to tighten up, remove alternator?
ted
No. No need to. You can reach the top bolt / nut of the PS pump using a long extension / socket / ratchet.
The bottom "pivot" bolt should be tightened last. Here is where you need a pair ramps. Then its easy access.
I have wood stick about 2 X 2, couple feet long. Its my PS pump & ALT pry bar. Find a spot to pry without putting a dent in the pump rez with one hand, operate ratchet with another hand, hold box-end wrench with another hand, press-check the tightness of the belt with your other hand. How many hands is that?
