Default Incorrect Master Cylinder ??

I have reason to believe (based on appearance) that the wrong brake master cylinder is installed on my '81 coupe. It appears that the correct one has a rounded reservoir and mine is squared off. (see photo). Now based on repair receipts, this m/c was replaced by the PO and has been on the car for 17 years and 23,000 miles. The brake pedal pressure seems normal and I can lock up all 4 wheels. I have read discussions regarding 1 1/8 inch m/c bores versus 1 inch bores, but remain confused. Question: Should I keep things as they are or order a new correct master cylinder for power brakes ?? What difference might I see with the correct master cylinder??

Depends on pedal modulation......if it feels fine and not too touchy, then leave it.....nothing to gain.

Are there any stampings on the cast iron with a number or name of manufacturer?
Unless you have a desire to make it more original, no reason to change it.

When it comes to brakes on my Corvette, if they work, I don't fix them
