Default Vintage Air A?C system info needed.

When I purchased my 1980 C3 350 and automatic, the PO had removed most of the components for the AC system. I still have the evaporator and condenser and a few of the connecting pipes and that about sums it up. I have been looking at the Vintage Air systems that comes complete with everything and it coverts from vacuum to electronic functions. I would like anyone that has made this retro install, to share their experiences for installation and the operation of this system. It is a little pricy but may be better in the long run. I am not worried about keeping this 80 C3 original as there were way to many built to keep it's monetary values. Your thoughts, comments welcomed!

Finished my install on my 75 really impressed how well it went together, just take your time. I had already rewired the car with an updated fuse block. The system is complete. If you have any questions on install you can call Vintage Air. The only problem I ran into was I broke a connector on one of the cable adapters. Gave me the option to change my controls over to rotary *****. Going to be nice to take it out when the temps hit 100 plus this summer in central California.

I installed Vintage Air in my "73" I bought the complete kit including the whole FEAD ascessorie parts that go with. The whole system is polished billet. The system installed very easily except you need to be very careful with the flex tube in the dash. The tubing in delicate. Also be careful with the electrical connectors. Once you snap them together don't try and take them back apart. I recommend this system. I'm not sure if my A/C system or my after market radio is drawing down my battery. I would recommend a battery shutoff if you install this system.

Thanks for the info it helps a lot in trying to decide if I want to go with vintage air.
Vrob, it would drive me nuts for my battery to drain after I had installed a new system. May I ask if you have disconnected the power to each separately and see which one has the voltage draw?

I too am updating my 71 to Vintage Air. I have everything out, but now need to know how to remove the wiring from the old a/c system to give it a clean look. Also, which hose provides vacuum to the control panel, assuming it has to be plugged after removing all the other vacuum lines that supported the original a/c system. Below are pictures with notes displaying my limited knowledge

Thanks in advance for advice/recommendations.

What component does upper taped hose supports? It is in the bundle from the control panel.

The lower taped hose is connected here. I think this is the line that provides the vacuum from the vacuum tank but don't know for sure.

This vacuum controller is located on the right inner fender. I think it is for the wiper door, but not sure.

As derekderek has stated your really close. Make sure you wrap the lines with supplied insulting tape on lines. You don't need any vacuum line for the ac but you do need it for wiper door and headlights. You will probably have to block vacuum line at that junction valve. Won't be needing any lines under heat and air controls good luck.
