Default TREMEC T600 Shifter hitting console plate

I Installed a T-600 TREMEC in my "73" Vette with new everything in the console. The shiftier hits the plate preventing it to go into 5th or reverse. TREMEC has sold the package to a thousand Corvette owners. Is there a salutation to this problem. Is there a different console plate for this transmission. Vrob1

Is there lots of room when you're in the "back" gears? Sounds like the console is sitting too far back, how is the fit to the park-brake console? Frequently the dash/center cluster all droop and the shift consoles end up being pushed back slightly (doesn't take much)

I have this same concern. After dropping the body I noticed that the shifter favored the fight side of the tunnel. I just tried putting the console in place today. Thankfully the shift pattern is very tight. I think it will work. One thing I did when I noticed this was, I loosened the transmission mount bolts and levered the tail of the transmission to the left . I was able to gain about 1/2". This work for you. I did disconnect the driveshaft before attempting the shifting of the transmission. Hope it works out.

can you post a pic?. Is the the shift rod? can you put the handle/rod on the other side of the shift lever? How is it mounted?

Does your lever mount like this?

I have a 68 4 speed (originally automatic) with an older model Hurst shifter that was hitting the console in reverse, 1st and 3rd. The vehicle had been owned by numerous (?) bubbas over the years and their solution was to have the console loose so it would move with the shifts. After research and monkeying around with everything I had my BIL heat the the shifter with a welder and I bent it so it would clear. I guess you can add me to that list of bubba owners.
