Cooking with headers???????
I had a guy tell me today that he has cooked 3 master cylinders in the past few months from header heat. Anybody have this happen to them. Quick description of application was a 383 and super comp headers.
I am thinking maybe he has "other" problems. Any ideas?????

Yeah -- tell him to try at least 2 jets richer on that carb !!
Other than the mixture problem, thermal coated headers would be a big help !

The current count for me is 1 brake booster, 2 alternators, 1 steering box seal, and a handfull of cheap spark plug boots. Summer is rough on underhood temperatures. But those Hooker sidepipes sound sooo good I could never give them up.

Ive had the same hooker headers on my 79 L82 for years. the only heat damage i have had is. 1. the ground wire for the starter melted. 2. i have a starter heat soak problem, which might now be corrected.
