I had posted earlier about adding a spacer to my front coils to raise the height and decided that was not the way to go. I had two different sets of spring in the front, first set raised it too high, next pair too low. It was suggested to clip the high ones but unfortunately I no longer have them and I did not save the specs/info on the"too low" springs in there now. I would like the front raised approximately 1 to 1.5 inches from where it now sits. Without any info of current and past spring specs is there a way to determine what I should buy to obtain the height I want. (other than coilovers) Car is a 1979 stock small block 4 spd with A/C. Tires are 225/70-15 Current height at the top of the front wheel opening is 27.5" ±.25.
I would appreciate any help, Thanks!

I would like to raise the front to give some assurance the tire will not rub or bump against the top edge. The space desired is probably more than spec but if the fender were to sustain damage matching and blending the paint would be next to impossible I want to save myself the headache not to mention the cost and inconvenience of avoidable damage
Bottomed out is bottomed out no matter what your ride hieght. If your not hitting anything with the car on the bump stops. Your done. No offense, but I think your pissing up a rope.

You're running the OEM stock tire size, what makes you think they are going to damage the fenders?
Agree with post above on spring height: While taller/stronger springs will raise your initial resting height they'll not prevent full travel.
These are Corvette Central 460lb. Grand Touring springs after I just installed them. I have aluminum heads and intake. After I cut 1 1/2 coils off the springs. I drove it this way and there was ABSOLUTELY NO rubbing at all on the fenders.
The 1 1/2 cut coils was too much and I had negative camber issues (too much). I currently have Moog 5758 (474lb.) with 1/2 a coil cut and my w/o height is 27 1/4.
