The power brake booster on my '76 has developed a vacuum leak. There's an annoying whistle coming from it whenever the car is on, except when I pinch the vacuum line connected to it. So I guess it needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I was wondering though, is it safe to just cap the line off until I have a chance to fix it all? Would that effectively make them "manual brakes," or is something disastrous bound to happen?
