i drove to crater lake in 1990 all the way from san francisco and there was lots of snow so we had to walk up to the mountain.the view was definitely well worth it
In 2000 we took our family vacation in OR. We started at Gold Beach for
a week. Oregon Caves for a night, then on to Crater lake for a couple days.
It was mine and my son's birthday - Aug 31, and it was snowing as we
walked down to the boat docks. After, wedrove North toward Mt Hood.
Crater lake is simply awesome. It was blustery, but beautiful.
Here is a nice shot of Wizard Island :seeya
Thanks guys. How are things going Troy? It must have been about a 4 hour drive. That's our little toy poodle, Delilah, that Kim is holding. She has a red doberman playmate, but he doesn't fit in the vette.
I've never seen crater lake from the ground, but had the opportunity to fly over it in a C-141 a few years ago. It's a beautiful sight and looks like it'd be a very nice drive. Nice pic
Absolutely beautiful scenery. I had heard of Crater Lake, but never knew where it was. I miss those types of things like when I used to live outside of Steamboat Springs, Colo with my '73 vert. The town I live in(Pearland, Tx) requires that every new business, subdivision & home to include trees as this town resembled West Texas when I came here 6 years ago. Good to see that they are working at it to make the town look better, but no way will we ever see those things. Thanks for the view.
Other sites worth visiting that I have traveled through are Lake Powell in Southern Utah and Flaming Gorge in Northern Utah.
The picture below would make it look as if our park is scenic. This is the entrance... after you get inside you might be lucky to find 10 more trees. Honest injun!
