1979 heater blower problems
Hello.
I have a 79 vette that im having blower issues with. I replaced the blower motor due to non op, also the blower resistor, so now I have a working blower motor on all speeds but only on the AC setting on heater control panel. If I slide the switch to floor, vent, or defrost I have no blower motor. Wheni first replaced the blower motor I had intermittent blower operation in the heat settings
So to once again state, I have all blower speeds if switch is set to max AC and the other AC setting, but no blower if switch is slid to any of the floor, vent, or defrost settings
Is this the heater control unit itself? I can hear the high speed relay clicking but also only in AC setting

You will probably need to remove the slide control switch assembly from the console and clean the contacts inside it. I had to do that to my 79 and it’s been working fine. They were dirty. Or you may have to replace it. But I sometimes question the quality of after market pieces vs. oem.
i also replaced the lens that has the AC-vent-heater lettering on it while I had it apart.
