Any tricks to installing the bracket cover on 1969 rear view mirror? The little interior vinyl trim piece that's supposed to go over the bracket that holds the rear view mirror arm is just dangling on the mirror arm. I can't figure out how to get it on. Seems like there are two little side tabs that are supposed to hold it in place. I currently have everything but that piece installed - do I need to disassemble something first?
I don't exactly remember but isn't there also a tab lip on one of the other sides that hooked onto the metal bracket that holes the mirror ball into the header? then the front trim piece that goes from side to side holds it into place?
I'll have to look over my pictures

My car is getting rubber suspension bits replaced at the moment. Once I get it back, I'll take another look. As far as I remember, there are only tabs on the two sides. I recall not being sure which side faced forwards and which backwards because they looked similar - just different cutouts. I was having trouble squishing the piece to get the tabs to fit behind whatever holds them to the headliner. Because it's so pliable, it doesn't stay in.
