Help! The turn signal/main-dip beam/cruise control lever on my C3 rotates in it's socket inside the steering column, so much so that when trying to indicate left the lever rotates downwards and catches against the steering column cover. Its a 78 car with a T&T column, and the lever itself is in good condition. I've managed to extract the lever pivot assembly (pictured below hopefully) out of the column, and can see that the key way in the socket that the lever pushes into is damaged inside which is obviously why the lever rotates. There is no part number on the assembly, and I've scanned all the spare parts suppliers catalogues that I can find, but no-one shows it. Does anyone know if replacements are available, or has anyone had this issue and managed to make a lasting repair.
Thanks in anticipation,
The GM part number for the pivot is 7833702 and is discontinued. You find them on e-bay from time to time but pricey.
There is a (refurbished) one on ebay now $50.00? LINK:https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...33702&_sacat=0
There was a forum member (white one) that actually purchased a new 78 pivot for his 77 and only used the metal part of it for his repair, maybe contact him to see if the plastic part not used is available. It's just a 1/8" solid pin holding it in, simple repair if you just change the plastic socket actuator assembly.

Ouch I see your overseas now, Good Luck!
Many thanks bmotojoe. Now armed with a part number, and with information from a CCCUK member, I managed to find the part listed in the Willcox catalogue, though sadly discontinued as you said. I was rather shocked to see a price of $250! Prices on Ebay are approaching $100, plus postage to the UK.
With these prices in mind I retreated to my man-cave over the weekend and tried to repair my pivot assembly. I made a 40thou steel shim out of an old feeler gauge set which I then fixed against the side of the key-way in the lever socket, effectively replacing the worn away wall of the key-way, and so far preventing the lever from rotating.
Here's hoping it proves to be a lasting repair!
