Well ... I blew out the seal in the piston about a month ago. I just got around to pulling the belt off so I could drive around in lieu of PS without spinning the pump dry. I found out that I LOVE the way the steering feels without the power assist. It was so nice to feel the road in my hands, but I nearly busted a gut trying to park that beast. So my question is, how much less steering effort is it if I move the tie rod ends to the rear mounting hole? Is there a significant difference, or should I just cancel my gym membership and leave it at the front hole?
:seeya I believe to convert it to manual steering, you have to lose the power steering ram and the ps control valve. :yesnod: This leaves you with no place for the pitman arm to fasten to. so, you either have to change the center link to a manual one or I saw somewhere that they make an adaptor that screws on to your exsisting center link in place of the ps control valve :smash: I think that should do it, but I'm no expert :D :seeya
After going a year and a half without power steering, I'm going back to it. Not having power steering sucks. I love my GTI, without power steering. That car was meant for manual steering. The Vette is just a beast without it.

*sigh* alright ... I'll fix the fargin' power steering.
