Re: Some recent auction prices. (gdh)
Yeah those C2's are getting way outa range. Even the NOM one's I've seen are asking $25,000+. I'd have to sell one of the kids and still be about $24,000 short. :D
A documented L-88 from '67 approaching a millon dollars????????????????
Holy poopie , to hell with the 401k I'm gonna buy a C2 to sell for retirement
Ahhhhh, yes it can. Another one of the '67 L-88s was recently bid up to $900,000 and did NOT sell due to a higher reserve.
Remember, they only built 20 L-88s in 1967. A cherry 1967 L-88 (with complete and verifiable documentation) is now approaching $1Million.
Do you happen to have the invoice/sticker price of that vette in 1967? I realize that there were only 20 built, but I want to make everyone sick for not upgrading to a big block in the 60's when they bought the car new. A '69 427 was not that much more expensive than the newly founded 350 version. I have a friend who is still kicking himself for not spending a few more bucks when he bought his '69 off the show room floor.
the million dollar one is a coupe with 12 miles on it, yes 12 miles. I saw it in california million years ago, bought by dave bourhs(sp) and partner, orignial owner bought, stored, got divorce and sat for years disassembled, he had planned to race, never did. It was bought will 11 miles on it. extra mile from unloading and loading from trailer....LOL

Recently, I passed on a well-kept rust-free XKE roadster with air and original engine for $32-35,000. Something tells me that in years to come I will regret that decision. I bet in 3-10 years it will be worth $50,000; and that's not counting the value of the pleasure I would have by owning it.
