Man, I love the easy ones.

>Your car is a Corvette, like all corvettes before and after.
>Your car is a 'Shark' this epithet is applied to all cars of the third generation corvette (i.e. C3 (1968-19820)
>Depending on who you talk to your car is or isnt, or falls somewhere between being a Stingray or not.

It is important to realize that the "Stingray" was not an option or package of any sort (at least so far as C3's go) It was merely a badge, in other words in those years when the Stingray badge was used - it was applied to all vettes of that year - redgardless of options. Much like all 78's got Anniversary badges but not all 78's were Silver anniversary cars (ie. had the SA paint option)

So you can see that it is not important if your car is a stingray or not, many say that only if you have the badge is your car a "stingray" others hold the opinion that all C3's have some Stingray in them.

IMO it does no harm to acknowledge your car as a Stingray, especially to those who are not knowledgable of the difference. For example when someone tells me "Hey, nice Stingray" I dont bother to correct them, If on the other hand someone asks "Is your car a Stingray" I usually say "No"

Nice summary...if you think naming an 81 is a challenge...how about those 68s?

The 67 was stingray and the 69 was a stingray and a Shark, so what does tha make a 68? A tweener?

OT,

Speaking of sharks, the other day I bought this cool 3D hologram shark sticker and put over the display of my cell phone, just for this reason. I have already had someone ask me if that is a shark on my phone. Yeah, it takes a bite out of people ears that want to use it.

There ALL SHARKS, and sharks eat stringrays!!!! (at least in the animal world)

Eddie, That's pretty cool of you using a SHARK sticker to dress up the cell phone.
I've actually trimmed my Vette out using a GREAT WHITE SHARK theme.

1. I have a Sterling Silver Shark mounted in the center of a C5 waterfall cross flag logo, which is centered on the rear speaker box.
2. I also have a 3 inch polished silver Shark mounted on the dash
3. In the engine bay, I have Shark Stickers in various locations
4. Painted on the underside of the hood is a smiling GREAT WHITE SHARK

As tacky as some of this sounds, I can assure you, they all look VERY COOL.

I almost forgot, at car shows I also use that STUPID SINGING JAWS plaque.
It sings: Mack the Knife and plays the Jaws theme as people pass by.

Corvette Craig,
Do you have any pics of your vette? I would like to see your shark theme items. Sounds very cool.
