Question bout headers
On a 77, we are wanting to use headers along with chambered exhaust. Shorty headers or is there anything we should be aware of?
Thanks I guess what I am asking is , will chambered exhaust connect up to shorty headers, or a different type.

there was a really nice set on our market place the other day with v band clamps instead of flanges,,,,very nice. Be aware that some manufacturers are now going or have gone to round exhaust flanges at the heads, the Hedmans are, so if you have big exhaust ports on the heads they may not mate well.....
We just covered this in another thread......shorty headers are a waste of money from a performance per dollar standpoint.....
Use Long Tube Headers and tie them in to the chambered......at 2.5 pipe too on the exhaust.

Thanks Jebby, I have always respected your responses and comments, so that being, I am asking you for advice on chambered exhaust. Its for a friend who will be getting long tube headers on a 76. Do you know a good source?
Thanks

A few years ago, I put a Wilcox 2.5" chambered system on my 69' 427/400......it was the "loud" system. It showed up in four days, was packaged well, and it fit on the car perfectly. It sounded and ran MUCH better than the pathetic 2" system GM had put on the car from the factory. I recommend that system without hesitation. Wilcox even has sound videos for them on his site.
