Hey all, buddy of mine rescued some headers and sidepipes that were headed for a scrap bin at his shop. These came off of a 64 C2 and he gave them to me hoping they'd work for my 76.
I'd be test fitting right now but my car currently lacks an engine....

Also, I can't figure out if these side pipes ever went with these headers, our guess is that these are from his previous headers? Or we don't understand sidepipes. Maybe y'all can explain these to me?

the gen 1 small blocks are roughly the same and the heads are interchangable, so they will bolt on......But the steering box is going to be your main concern. Then its just a case of massaging them with a bucking bar and a hammer to get the space you need. To run those pipes you would need a reducer and a cover to make them look good. The hooker style use a big pipe that is the same diameter then uses an insert to reduce the noise.
the frame for the c2 and the early c3 is the same basic dimensions, so it SHOULD fit.......theres always something that will bite you in the *** though.
when you are test fitting make sure you have the tranny in as well because the engine angle will determine interference fit
Hey they were free, wait and see, they arent going anywhere.....is your car and auto or manual?

Steering box is what we expect to be the biggest issue as well, especially because the other car was not power steering. I am not sure if the spacing between the heads and the pipe mounting points were even close to the same.
Car is currently an auto, but I plan to put a 6 speed in at some point.
Im guessing the pipes themselves will not be useful at this point, I'll just run it with open headers for the first fire. Looks like it's hard to get any kind of pipes and mufflers for less than $400, so that might have to wait. Wonder if these would fit:
I used Hedman Hedders and they fit my C3 without any re-bending or modifications. It was a simple installation and they fitment was great. This in on a 427 however.
The side pipes look totally home made out of three sections. Measure the collector diameter of the header, should be 4".
Try to find some used side pipes.
63 to 69e steering box on ecklers. same frame with body mounts moved a bit and raised or lowered a bit. same steering. engine same distance back from front suspension. they have to fit.
