Well, I don't know, I have a 70's Corvette, with original 70's wheels. Most likely don't handle as well as modern tires and wheels. But then I have a late model for that.
I've heard of Hurst shifters, but not wheels.
Me, sometimes I just enjoy my old car for what it is.
15 inch wheels and all.
Modern wheels and low profile tires on a C3 are fairly common, true enough. But, ....

Back in the late 1970s, George Hurst, a big proponent of safety, after hearing about the failures of some "cheap" aftermarket wheels, decided to enter the wheel business. He designed a 5 spoke "mag" wheel, that not only looked good, but was as safe, or safer than an OE wheel. He initially introduced them on Pontiac GTOs, as he already had a contract to provide 4 speed shifters (later the dual-gate automatic shifter) for the Pontiacs.I seem to recall that weight became an issue, as his "safer" mag wheels were fairly heavy.

Did a little digging. According to this website, the 17x8 Hurst have a backspacing of 4.5".

https://www.extremecustoms.com/produ...item_id=108297

Stock back spacing is 4" so these will sit 1/2" deeper into the wheel wells, possibly causing interference problems. Simplest solution would be a 1/2" spacer, but that would need longer wheel lugs and could cause safety issues.

Not a bad looking wheel and Hurst has always been known for a good quality part, but I think the gold colored anodizing would really limit which color cars these wheels will suit.
To me these wheels just scream "Pontiac".
