I noticed some rather generic chevy motor mounts by the polyurethane suspension bushing company (can't recall the name at the moment). The thing I liked is that the metal had been zinc plated. I am guessing the factory ones are bare metal. Does anyone know which of the generic motor mounts will work or can someone recommend a good motor mount? I would prefer zinc washed with rubber bushing and that it is of the locking type. Maybe a link to a site...
Can't answer your questions completely, but if it is of concern to you, only the original style motor mounts allow the usage of the spark plug shielding/"V" shields which run along the side of the block. Chuck
Energy suspension has generic motor mounts that will work.
ENS-3-1114R is the correct part number for Chevrolet: 1963-82 V8 (the R in the part# is for Red)
I've noticed that sometimes the mounts need to be shimmed (out from the block, not between the 2 pieces, the 2piece mounst have torque specs at which the 2 plates need to be secured together, I think it's 30#ft) so that they properly sit in the frame.
