Has anyone installed the inline fuel pump and filter on a c3 for the holley sniper system? Looking for pictures of where/how the installation was done.
Thanks tim@bethlehemfair.com
Different year C3's have different fuel tanks. So as I understand it, some of the very early one's have a fuel line coming out of the bottom of the tank. Then it could be possible. Line coming out of the top of the tank. Not as good. Electric fuel pumps are pushers not pullers. Inline fuel pumps are prone to failure if mounted anywhere but right at the bottom of the tank. And lower than the tank.
all OEM's run intank pumps. And for a number of good reasons . I made my own intank pump setup with baffle in my 77. I'm running a FiTech fuel injection system. Lots and lots of how to threads on this forum. The year your working on would help us guide you. All C3's are not the same.
I am running the Holley Super Sniper (4500) in a 68 C3. My fuel tank is original and I also installed the fuel pumps in the tank. I am using 2 340 ltr/hr pumps to feed a 632. The pumps in the tank are able to run much cooler (and quieter) which greatly extends their service life.
I have a 1968 C3 with a 427 and it is running the Holley Stealth Sniper 4150. On my car I installed the fuel pump using a new module made by Holley that replaces the fuel level sending unit with a fuel pump and built in regulator. My 1968 has the hole in the bottom of the tank so it took 20 minutes to install. I have a single WALBRO pump submersed in the gasoline making very little noise and keeping cool. One of the best parts is that I need no return lines from the engine compartment since the regulator is in the tank itself. The Holley Sniper Stealth looks just like a carbureted Corvette and unless they notice the 60 psi of fuel pressure they would never know.
Originally I was planning to buy a new fuel tank with the provisions for EFI but the salesman suggested the Holley module and saved me close to $400. Prior to this I had a frame rail mounted pump and it was noisy and was heard all the time. Having the fuel pump inside the tank sure makes it quieter. I then insulated the fuel line going to the throttle body keeping the fuel cool for more power. The module from Holley came with a small piece of their new Hydra-Mat that is nothing short of amazing how it works.
