Hello all...had a bunch of stuff done on my ‘77 by local shop, including supposed rebuilding of the factory carb. I haven’t been able to drive it much since I got it back a few weeks ago, but now that I am, there is an idle issue in park and neutral - video attached. I capped off the main vacuum port on the back of the carb and there was no change in the bouncing idle. Any ideas? Thank you!!
Is that all you have is a bouncing tach? My 77 starts then raises to a high idle and just dies The carb was rebuilt by me but being the last car in my fleet who knows when it will get attention this year. I might even go fuel injection quicker starts better gas mileage. Looks like a long winter indoors to sort the bugs!
Is there a reason you dont take it back to them?
Do you know how to adjust the mixture screws?
Mixture screws, no...always been tentative to mess with that, but would if someone would guide me. Take it back? No, prefer not to for reasons I won’t get into here. Jeff

Mine does the same thing - crazy high idle, then settles down to the bouncing after it has warmed up. Maybe I’m expecting too much from a carb’d engine. 😁

your not expecting too much from the engine, sounds like a poor choice in shops.
The fast idle is incorrectly adjusted and idle speed and mixture screws also need adjustment.
if you dont wish to attempt anything, find a local
Corvette club and get a suggestion for a new shop.
