Looks like I'll be getting the new Cragars in exchange for the TT II's. They have a 4.5" backspacing though. Think there will be a need for spacers? The TT II's have plenty of clearance with the 4" spacing, but that extra 1/2 inch could make a big difference...

I actually used 3/4 inch spacing when I had my Cragars on my 68.... The SS lug nuts are very long and if you only use 1/2 inch spacing - they might hit the rotor assembly and can cause the wheels to get loose... This actually happened on my 69'... My 2 rear wheels got loose and this messed up the wheels.. So - make sure that the wheels are tight and the lugnuts don't hit the rotor assembly...
Which Cragar are you getting, the new Alloy SS, or the ole' Steel SS? I agree with GrandSport, the TT II is one of the nicest around, but I have seen the new Alloy SS and believe me - you won't be disappointed.
Definately getting the new alloy s/s wheels. They're very similar to the TT II's from what I can tell (from pics). I had posted before about the problems I was having with runout, so that's why the change, otherwise I'd stay with the TT II's. They did offer to bring in several new TT II's to see if they could pick out some good ones, but they said they had their doubts from what they've seen.
Hey Keith, since you've seen these wheels, what's the quality of the finish like? To me the spokes on the TT's leave a little to be desired. The new Cragar's ain't cheap... going to cost me another $300 or so... plus whatever the cost of spacer's may be if I need them.
We ordered a set in for a guy for a 68 Camaro. They did look sweet. It was a tuff decision as to which wheel for me to order. The finish on my 15x14's are almost mirror like. If I did have a complaint and this was only preference, the Allow S/S almost looks too smooth.
I'm hoping I don't have the runout problems you did. My wheels are 15x14 and 15x4 and had to be special ordered, so I'm "assuming" on wheels that are not run-of-the-mill they pay special attention to.
I can only hope, but like I said in the previous post - you will not be disappointed.
