These little weight arm gliders. Or what ever there called.
See the broken one at the bottom of the photo.
does anyone have a part number and or a source to get replacement's?
thanks much Guys.
Assuming this is out of your 1977?
Unfortunately from 75 on the main shaft was sold as a complete assembly so it's hard to find each part number in this area.
I do believe that this same button was used from 68-74 on both the tachometer cross shaft distribution gear (Note: Some Were Brass) and the distributor cam weight base (Note: Nylon).

And it won't be long before the other nylon bushing wears thru.
Does any shop around you rebuild distributors? If so, they might have bushings that will work for you. Would certainly be cheaper that getting the whole shaft.
Look at MSD part number 8628, it has pads that are supposed to fit the holes in the GM HEI distributor. There diameter is larger but do not interfere with anything.
Thanks much for the replies thus far. The MSD 8628 recommendation I had already found on my own. Through summit, with shipping to Australia, I'm looking at about 80 bucks. And all I need are the 2 nylon buttons. Not thinking that's worth it to me.
however, with the suggestions listed, it does give me a few ideas. As in, why not brass rivets, perhaps filed flat. I think I need to have a good look through hardware and home improvement stores to find a suitable replacement.
Another idea you may find locally.
They come in many different sizes, hole diameter, length etc. Nylon bumper clips - retainers. The retainers are called Christmas Trees

Example below: Dorman 700-332
Hole diameter 12mm or 1/2"
Button head width 1"
Stem Length 3/4"
That's an interesting idea. The stock nylon buttons seem to be a much "Harder" nylon however. Those interior tree's are a very soft plastic in comparison, might work however.
