I have read many positive opinions about the VB&P composite springs. I would like to buy one, a 340/350, but I discovered that VB&P doesn't exists any more!
Any alternatives for a good "sporty" hanling?

It was strange when they went out of business. I had an order for a spring at the time and they kept delaying it saying they were having trouble getting the resins. That sound strange to me as I work for the largest electrical connector make in the world, and I'm sure if there was some issue with resins I would have heard. I finally called and asked what was really going on. I was told they were in the middle of selling the business and because of that a lot of purchasing was on hold. So, I cancelled the order and went with Vansteel. The first spring they sent me had a small nick which was probably not an issue, but I asked them to send another an they did. And tech support was excellent with advice on the spring and shocks.
The composite springs are so easy to install. The steel springs make me really nervous to remove or install. I've installed three of the composite springs. All from VBP. All were shortened slightly (1 1/2 inch?) to accomodate offset trailing arms and wider tires. There was no cost for having them shortened.
VBP was being ran into the ground I herd. All I know is my last experience with them I bought a smart strut kit for my C4 and got a kit for the C3. I tried to return the C3 kit twice but the prepaid label was denied due to funds, VBP told me to just keep it, I already have the dragvette kit on my C3 so it just sits in my closet in case I get another C3
edit: Eventually I got the correct kit as well. I also have one of their springs, I asked for one of the stiffer ones as I read on here they would do but it seems soft.
