Does anybody have any ideas I adjusted the valves and rebuilt the carb and fixing to replace the original vacuum lines to the headlights. Any help woud be greatly appreciated.
Does it occur under certain conditions (idle?, cruise?, ?) or all the time? Is it something that you just hear or can you feel it also? If you're referring to an occasional unevenness or a little pop, there are several things can cause it. One of them is an intermittent ignition miss. Besides the missed beat, the unburned fuel goes into the exhaust and gets ignited there. Another possibility is a rich condition, in one or more cylinders, that causes unburned fuel to go into the exhaust. Sometimes it lights, sometimes it doesn't. And another possibility is air getting into the exhaust system, causing the exhaust gasses to ignite. There are many other possible causes but I think you'll need to define "exhaust miss" before we can help narrow down which are more likely in your case.
If it is happening in neutral, try watching the engine for when it occurs. If it's a cylinder missing, you should be able to see it by the movement of the engine. If it only occurs while driving, pay close attention to see if you can feel it when it happens. If it's just fuel igniting in the exhaust, you wouldn't feel anything.

More info would be helpful! Slow down a bit and tell us exactly what is going on, and when you hear the problem. How can you "make" the car do it.
When you reply, put it all down as easy to understand as you can. Don't run your statements all together in one sentence with no puncutation or caps because that makes reading it a whole lot harder! The easier your post is to read, the more likely you are to get responses.
When the car is in park you can hear it and feel it at the end of the tail pipes. It's mostly on the passenger side. When the car is in drive you can feel the occasional miss inside the car. The plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor button have about 5000 miles on them. I don't think it's an ignition problem. Tomorrow I'm going to finish replacing the vacuum lines. They are the original and look brittle and it's not a high dollar fix. After that I'm going try to readjust the carb. I'll let you Know if this helps.
