To me it looks like a "spacer" of some kind because the M/C pushrod and sleeve is not long enough for a tandem diaphragm master cylinder. The "pushrod sleeve" is much longer in the original Bendix diagram and does not use a spacer.

Does anyone know if either one of these diagrams is specific to the Corvette dual diaphragm booster?
