Cheap enough.
You can get the filter at NAPA when you buy real hose that will last another 40 years.
If a fuel tank hose is cracked, and you suck air, it fails.
See who has a filter sock, or change the whole sender. Some guys do because it's the labor, not the part. I do.
Senders and floats die too.
Any thoughts on draining gas? I have both lines pinched at pump but gas still coming from metal line to carb..
used 2 pinch on feed line..theres quite a bit of gas in that damn thing...i sure hope ots the pump..blew thru line from pump to carb its clean...
gas pours out of hose from tank...i may unpinch to verify flow..
maybe local pump will see..no way to know if pump bad or not..of course pump rod slid down...debating puling plate or not

How much fuel do you have in the tank?
You will get that flow of fuel at the rubber hoses as long as the level in tank is higher than the fuel pump.
I usually don't get much fuel at the carb if I need to R&R carb. Only what little pressure is left in the line when I loosen the nut.
Siphon using the hose, fuel can method.
Your quick!

I think it looks ok...
i assume as the rod fell out the very polished end is the one that rides inside the engine? The other side is not polished assume that is the pump side?
odds napa gets me today...50 bucks and delphi pump..
I'm not 100% sure looking at your photo, but that side of the pump rod facing the camera looks like normal wear and rounded a little and should go against the fuel pump arm. The other end should be more flat.

Thanks all..
all up to napa now..all cleaned up..
yup will be ordering s hose not a chance napa has
back to pushrod..one side smooth one not..assume smooth in engine?
Smooth side...this must be in engine..its cleaner longer Cleaned up Not so polished just a ring in middle assume feul pump side
Yes.
If you want to check it for straight, roll it on a piece of glass.
Grease it up to stay in place, including both ends.
Use PTFE paste on elbow. Fuel line flare is dry. You cab put a dab of oil BEHIND the flare, where the nut rubs, to aid in tightening.
Sometimes that line from pump to carb cracks on the flare face. New ones are fine and cheap.

That could be some rust residual in your filter.
Remove your fuel cap and shine a light into your tank to see if there is any rust or sediment sloshing around in the tank.
If so drop the tank, clean it up and replace the sock.
If you can’t drop the tank now, order a couple extra filters, change them after every couple of drives until you can drop and clean your tank.
Don’t wait to long or you’ll be replacing the pump again soon and spending more time on the side of the road.
