Hello everyone! It has been a bit since I have posted anything. Since I last posted I finally purchased a 1974 Corvette and have started working on it and ordering parts, I've kinda went down a rabbit hole with getting the car running but I am sure you all know what that is like. Its definitely a "While I am at it" kinda project now lol.
Anyways I can post all of that on a seperate thread, my main thing right now is trying to plan out an exhaust. I have some ideas on what I want to do but in the process of planning it all out I have found this cable under the frame underneath the driveshaft, I thought it was part of the emergency brake system but it is not connected at all. It looks like some sort of safety cable and its attached at 3 points but it does not look to me like it serves any purpose. I am wondering if anyone knows what it is for and if it is imperative that it stays on the car, I would have a little bit more room if I took it off. Any help is appreciated, I will try to get a picture taken of it if you all dont already know what it is. Thanks again in advance.
I dont know the offical story on it but my guess is due to the floors being fiber glass... they put the cable there to tie it to the frame so that the seat belts didnt get ripped out in an accident. Just a guess....

Thanks! That looks like it might be what I am seeing. I will reference that diagram and have a look again next time I get out there. If that;s what it is I definitely don't want to take that off.
