I bought these 3” QTP electric cutouts about 3 years ago to put on my 68 Hemi Cuda to make it more “streetable”. I also bought the biggest Spintech oval exhaust sections and “street” mufflers to keep the flow less restrictive. This to replace the existing Spintech exhaust which is ceramicoated. Since the new exhaust wasn’t ceramicoated and since I decided that this was too much of a drag car for the street the exhaust has been sitting. I just can’t handle the constant whirring of the high stall converter.
exhaust is presently Spiral baffles and they will be capped.
im worried about turbulence giving a bad o2 reading. Thoughts?
I also have the heat shield straps to contend with.
I would turn the motors to the back and possibly angle cut the cutouts to angle back more too.

thanks Tim and Richard. It probably is not going to work. I may just resort to welding up some 'screw on caps for the STS baffles. Easier and I don't go to the track that often.
FWIW: I have STS baffles with the caps almost totally removed- I drilled 4 overlapping 1/2" holes in each cap. Not unbearably loud until you get on the go pedal. On a 496 BBC.
Thanks. Mine are uncapped and are a bit too loud for me and what I want. I’ll definitely recap them but it does suck hp. Probably will use caps I can reach in and install/ uninstall if possible.

Here's how I handled -cutouts/O2 sensor/ with sidepipes-
Have 2½" straight pipe- and when I close (variable) the straight pipe the exhaust will flow through the outer muffler. So I have the best of both world at the flick of a switch.
Plus the O2 sensor is not affected by the opening/closing of the cut-outs
That does look good;however, I think I’m going with my screw on cap solution for now. I may do that down the road though as it’s obviously a better, cleaner solution over mine.
