I almost ordered them but then got to looking at the picture and it seems they look just like the bags that the prev owner of my car gave me when I bought it. And I never used them because the T-Tops did not fit in the bags.
My question is this: are these different?? I got the impression that the ones I had were designed for moonroofs or something that was smaller than a T-Top ... and I don't want to make the stooooopid mistake of ordering more of them since I couldn't use the first ones! :smash:
Can't help you with your question....but I did order a different T-Top storage bag from Mid America earlier this year....and like it.
I ordered a # 606-108 T-Top Storage Case....$ 99.99. It's heavy nylon canvas with foam lining and foam separator. It has carring handles than can be used to carry the tops. It fits in the rear compartment....and can be secured with the stock hold down strap.
A bit pricey....but I didnt' want to take chances with scratching my tops....worked for me....
This is the exact bag - (suitcase) I plan on picking up this winter. I saw another guy using this and he said it the best thing he ever did for taking care of the t-tops when driving.
I also have the original looking bags and the tops only fit in one way, is a major struggle to get them in, and really dont offer much protection IMHO.
I have them and they work fine. The original had 3 snaps to hold them closed, the Velcro works very nicely. My only complaint would be that the soft cotton lining gets stuck in the Velcro when they are folded up. No biggie and they are much softer inside than the original bags
I went to an interior shop and had a set made out of really heavy vinyl and headliner material. The bags mimic the original but use velco to hold them shut.
I was only charged materials which was about $40. Great investment.
I used advice I found on this forum a couple years ago and search the internet junkyards for a mid-80's firebird/Camaro T-top storage bag. Found a Firebird one for $50.00, that once cleaned up looks great, and is 2-3 times heavy and more protective than the originals that came with the car.
