Removed a push rod to check it for straightness and now the rod wont go all the way back in. Acts like solid lifter is stuck part way up its bore. Help
I am on tdc #1 so 8 exhaust is on base circle for adjustment. I think the lifter pulled out of its bore and is laying sideways if that is possible or it is stuck up in the bore.. If I move pushrod up or down it will go in farther but angle is wrong. With pushrod straight it sits about 3/4 inch high.
Did you turn the rod before pulling it out? If not the oil tension between the lifter and push rod can pull the lifter out of the bore.

I know better was distracted when I removed push rod. Nuts. I like the endoscope now I can see my screw up before I remove intake. Will order one tonight. Thanks
Look at this as an opportunity to inspect your cam and at least one lifter. You may get it back in with a magnet then find a way to hold tension on the lifter to remove the magnet
