I use a spring compressor to take the load off the springs. After removing the shocks, the compressor bolt drops down threw the top hole in the tower. Assembling the hooks and there block inside the spring. Hooking the "hooks" as close to the bottom of the springs as I can get them. Tighten the compressor bolt pulling the spring upwards tight into the tower. Once pressure of springs is removed. I pop the lower ball jount and lift the spindle up to clear the lower ball joint. Swing lower "A" arm down out of the way and lossen spring compressor.
reverse for assembly.
And yes, don't tourqe the "A" arm end bushing bolts till the engine is back in and car is at ride height.

^^^^^^^
I ran a chain through the spring also just in case. Not sure how it happened but the compressor slipped off the spring, it shot out and missed my head barely. Shot clear across the yard and bounced off the fence. Happened so fast it was downright scary....be careful
You can also use a piece of all thread to help remove and put back together . All thread some kind of plate for bottom couple washers a bearing and a nut. But still be careful
