I replaced the seals for the rear astro ventilation flaps in my 68 convertible and would like to know if anyone knows the size of the screws that hold the metal bracket to the body. Mine are missing since the car was disassembled when I bought it. These are the vents in the rear. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, but those are for the vents on the rear deck. I’m looking for the screws that attach the metal brackets with the rubber flaps on the inside of the car. Each bracket attaches to the body with three screws and according to the AIM they are slotted screws not a philips head. I’ve checked all the vendors and it looks like no one stocks them.
No. Those plates were fixed and didn’t open on AC cars. There was no mechanism for those on AC cars either.
OK cool thanks! So does that also mean those vent ***** on the outside L/R of the climate control panel in center console were not there either on a factory A/C car?

Correct. No center console "vent *****" on 1968-1976 C60 A/C cars

Yes. The outside air vents are manual for non AC cars and use the console vent ***** to open and close the vent. For factory AC cars, the AC controls outside air and there are no manual vents on the console..

Cool, thx everyone! I was fairly sure my '73 was non A/C but haven't quite gotten around to trying to get at build sheet. It has the vent *****, but also has Vintage air.

The vent ***** on the console mean it was not AC from the factory.

At the risk of being given demerits for thread creep; did C3 cars delivered with factory A/C have Astro ventilation also?
They still said Astro Ventilation on the window though.....my 72' is an A/C car and it has the original glass in it that has the Astro script on them.....

Astro Ventilation was referring the vent ***** on the dash and no side vent windows, did not mean the car has air conditioning

I know that...and that is not what I said.
You could have an A/C car and it will say Astro Ventilation on the side windows....even though it was meant to be a system for a non-A/C car...
