where this is supposed to go besides NOT on the exhaust manifold. 72 LT 1 with factory air. I do not see any empty plugs where this could fit or be inserted. its location is by the ws door actuator I was wondering that perhaps it was supposed to go into the water temp sensor between 6 and 8 hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm Thanks in advance

Does your car have A/C? This looks like part of the harness and should have what's called a thermo limiter fuse plugged into it.

I don't think that is it as the thermo limiter switch/fuse has different colored wires and mine is visible in photo number three with a tie down attached to it just to the left of the melted plug and yes it does have AC, thanks

The wires going into the plug are 2 orange green and blue. There is no way it would reach to the front of the motor

Your car came with a transmission controlled spark advance. On the passenger side of the carburetor is there a vacuum device connected to the distributor vacuum advance?

No there is not such a device there. I do not believe this plug would reach the location that your picture shows

That might be it but I do not see that vacuum device on the intake manifold so it has been removed by PO
