1982 Engine Ticking
It sounds like it's coming from something under the drivers side valve cover but I am not sure where to start investigating. The only reason I say drivers side it because it does sound louder on the drivers side to me. Also it is "in time" with the engine, so if I rev it up the ticking speeds up to match. I haven't really let the car heat up to see if it goes away or gets quieter because I wanted to be better safe than sorry and not drive it when I wasn't sure.
Just trying to get some ideas. We are going to be taking the engine a bit apart to replace the Intake manifold gasket so we are going to look at everything else while we are in there. This is my first vette and maybe I've just never noticed the noise before? If all sounds normal to you guys just let me know but again, rather get a second opinion before risking a trip in it.
AUDIO WARNING. The way my phone recorded the audio it tried to focus on the noise itself and drown out the engine noise so it goes in and out. Don't turn up too loud LOL.

Open the breather and insert the hose.
You can also remove the valve cover and see if it is a specific valve making the noise.
