I'm installing a Holley Red fuel pump on my '71. Question: Which side is inlet?
I shouldn't have to ask this question but there's not a clue on the pump or on any search . Naturally Holley and all suppliers are "experiencing exceptional high call volume ".
TIA

Thank you.
Edit: I'm sorry for all the shitty things I muttered about Holley... found the tiny print on bottom plate.
I had 2 holley red pumps fail on me. Was running one on my 65 gto and it failed. Carried a spare with me and after installaton it was dead. Of course both pumps were out of warranty ! Last 20 years have been using a carter 4070 pump with zero problems. Ran one on my 460 ranchero too and no problems with that one .
Curious why you were running an electric pump? What I learned out in Nevada somewhere near Tonapah in the 60's is that the fuel pump lobe on a GTO is BOLTED to the camshaft, and will fail somewhere above 135 MPH! Hitchhiked into the nearest town, bought an electric fuel pump and bypassed my original mechanical pump in the desert sun. Good times!
Rochester Quadrajets are notorius for losing prime. Don't know where it goes, (not the well plugs), but I got tired of cranking until the mechanical pump filled the bowl. Electric pump solved the problem. BTW, I kept the mechanical pump inline.

When living in Florida I had to drive about 30 miles to the drag strip and with 4.10 gears was getting fuel perc problems on the strip unless I let the car sit for awhile. Installed a carter 4070 back at the tank and no more problems.
