When you have a job you can't do, or don't have time for, what shop do you trust? I need an engine diagnosis. for a couple of things I can't even describe, and it's getting kinda cold to be standing out there fooling with my car, plus as a college student I have finals around the corner. As much as I'd trust the specialty shops, they seem a bit pricey, and are always backed up into the "late next month" timeframe anyway.
Try Jerry Morton a Corvettes Performance Plus. He is a Club member. He did a safety check on my 79 and told me everything that was wrong with it and gave an estimate. He has done work on several club members c3's and c4's. All have had good comments about the work.
his # 248-373-6445. the shop is located at the corner of walton and joslyn roads in potiac. tell him mike locke sent ya!
if you ever need a second set of hands dont hesitate to ask. im in farmington hills. email me abbymike@htdconnect.com
I am up in Waterford. Don't know who to tell you to go to but there is a "new guy" in north Pontiac that I've is a honest person and he was giving free inspections. Don't know if that helps but if you would like I could send you the name and phone#.
Titanium,
i believe the old drive in is now a target strip mall. Thats what ive been told. Ive only lived here 6 years and the drive-in is long gone.
I pretty much live across the street from the flamigo trailer park.
I dont know if it was you or someone else from the forum, but they used to live in the same subdivision as i do.
Sorry that I can't help with where to take your car, but figured I'd say hi. I'm also in Farmington Hills. I met up with Mike (Got79Fever) on the Cruise to Hell.
So far since I've been here, everything that I've had to do to my car was done in my heated garage. Just after Christmas the old clunking 3.36 rear is coming out and a nice rebuilt 3.70 is going in!!
i used to live on albion ( i con remember there was a bates burgers about a mile a way and the elementry school was "William Grace" was a couple miles a way.,,,i remember that the old drive was torn down and they put a ford dealership there,,,that was 15 /16 years ago i think
Titanium,
yep, same subdivions. BatesBurgers is still there. :U
but my wife likes them....
Matt, Im envious of your heated garage. Ihave to wait till the weather breaks in a few months. If you need an extra set of hands with your rear-end install dont hesitate tocall
Double_0_7,
As it hasn't been too long since I was in college, I understand your position. Why don't you try to post your problems, and we'll see if we can help you. My garage isn't heated, but I could at least make some room for the day. I'm sure there are some others who could also help. It's possible it could be something simple.
Well, thanks for the suggestions, and the offers for help. Great bunch o' guys. Anyway, I guess the good news is that I finally got my parents to help clean out the garage, and now I have a spot inside. Still not heated, but we have a kerosene heater that does okay at warming it up since the garage is attached and isn't that cold in the first place. I guess that leaves only one problem now, namely my lack of time. Still in school, and finals are catching up with me. :( But, hey, school's out in just two weeks, and I have three and a half weeks and all the time in the world. :D I will probably still use the shop for diagnosis so I don't have to keep guessing what the problem is.
BTW. Farmington Hills? A bunch of my friends and my cousin live there. But, I digress.
