I posted about the dust on my wheel. I pulled the wheel and everything seems to be in place. I rotate the rotor and there is a very slight drag. I assume the drag is normal because of the fixed caliper and spring pressure in the pistons.
Is that a correct assumption?

Different brake pad compositions on the two sides? (Unlikely, but perhaps a PO replaced one set, but not the other).
Per @71chimera's suggestion, the caliper could be sticking. This can be caused by the brake hoses swelling internally, holding fluid in the caliper. If they are more than 10 years old, they are likely due to be replaced.

Depending on the pad material they will act differently. A stock style organic pad produces little dust but has a weaker stopping power/ distance. Ceramic pads will stop quicker and perform better but will leave a lot of dust on every ride....personal experience
